It’s Tight Like That

This song has an interesting title. It was written and recorded in 1928 by “Georgia Tom” Dorsey and “Tampa Red” Whittaker and they named it after a bit of street slang: “It’s tight like that.” Ever since the song first came out, even up to today, somebody’s always been determined to make something salacious out of it but can’t quite do it. It means simply, “That’s just the way things are”, but you can have fun with it if you want. “It’s Tight Like That”.
